It may be spring, but summer-like conditions are expected to stick around the GTA for the next couple of days.

CityNews Meteorologist Jill Taylor says Friday’s guaranteed high is 25 degrees Celcius, but areas away from the lake could feel more like 30.

If you were planning to escape the heat this weekend in cottage country, Muskoka will be a hot spot with temperatures expected to hit a high of 30 degrees, with a humidex of 32, and Ottawa is set reach a high of 32 and a humidex of 34.

The warmer than normal temperatures are expected to last until Sunday, with showers in the forecast.

However, we’re not out of the woods yet when it comes to winter weather. According to Environment Canada, flurries could still be in our future with the latest date the GTA has seen them on June 4, 1945. Last May, Toronto got 0.2 cm of snow, and May 13, 2020, it was -3 degrees.

Early next week, more seasonal temperatures are in the forecast. Environment Canada says Monday will have a high of 21 degrees and Tuesday 19.
