A man has been arrested and faces a first-degree murder charge in the fatal shooting of another man inside a Brampton restaurant back in April.

Peel Regional Police say the alleged targeted incident happened at a fast-food restaurant in the Kennedy Road North and Sandalwood Parkway area around 1:30 a.m. on April 30.

Officers located a 30-year-old man inside the establishment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Police later identified the victim as 30-year-old Ricardo Bryan.

On Tuesday, investigators arrested 26-year-old Carl Anthony Khan of Mississauga.

Khan was charged with first-degree murder and held for a bail hearing. He appeared in court on Wednesday.

“Gun violence is an unfortunate reality which carries devastating impacts on our communities,” Deputy Chief Insp. Nick Milinovich said in a statement.

“Our service is committed to preventing those outcomes. When this isn’t possible, we are equally committed to holding those responsible accountable for the harm their actions cause.”
