Toronto police looking for man after four fast food restaurant robberies

By News Staff

Toronto police are looking for a man after a string of robberies at fast food restaurants beginning on Friday night and into the early morning hours Saturday.

Police say the robberies started around 9 p.m., when a man entered a fast food restaurant in the area of Yonge Street and Front Street and threatened staff with a blunt weapon before running away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Three similar robberies were then reported between the span of 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., in the areas of Queen Street West and Beverley Street, Dundas Street West and Manning Avenue, and Bathurst Street and Dundas Street West.

Police believe the same man is responsible for all four of the robberies.

There are no reported injuries, however, police say it appears the person’s behaviour behind the robberies is escalating.

Police are now looking for a white man between the age 25 and 30, 5’6″ in height with short dark hair, and wearing a white t-shirt and off-white coloured pants.

Police are telling the public not to approach him if he’s seen, and to call 911 immediately instead.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
