A woman has been arrested as Toronto police continue to search for a wanted man in connection with a retail robbery that involved one of the assailants armed with an axe.

On Oct. 25, authorities were notified of a robbery in the St. Clair Avenue West and Runnymede Road area.

It’s alleged that a man and a woman entered a business and began concealing items to steal them. The woman was confronted by an employee and fled the scene.

Police said that when employees approached the man before he left the store, he swung an axe striking one victim, causing minor injuries and forcing them to back away. The man and woman escaped on foot.

On Sunday, police arrested 18-year-old Jordania Henderson-Lugg of Toronto. She’s been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon and appeared in court on Monday.

The male suspect remains unidentified and is described as white, approximately 20 to 30 years old, standing 5-foot-7, with a slim build.
