Man arrested after 2-month-old baby found critically injured in Markham hotel room

A two-month-old baby has serious injuries, and a man is under arrest following an incident in a hotel room in Markham.
Police responded to the Monte Carlo Inn, in the area of Woodbine Avenue and Highway 7, around 2:10 p.m. on Tuesday after getting reports of an injured infant.
The two-month-old baby was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. Police tell CityNews the baby’s condition has stabilized, but injuries are still considered very serious and could change at any time.
A man was arrested at the scene, and police say charges will be laid. Investigators have not confirmed the relationship between the suspect and the child.
Police said there were other people inside the hotel room at the time of the incident, one of whom called 9-1-1.
