Blue Jays still searching for winner of life-changing $3 million jackpot

One Blue Jays fan is wealthy and may not even know it. Plus, the hits and misses from the Met Gala, and one athlete spends two weeks inside a glass case. Richard Southern and Erica Natividad discuss.

The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking for the winner of a life-changing amount of money.

The Jays Care Foundation announced the winning ticket for their $2.87 million mega jackpot on Monday. The foundation says the ticket was purchased in-game at Rogers Centre on April 11.

The team tells CityNews they have no way of tracking who bought the ticket, something that can only be done for online purchases. Everyone who was at the April 11 game against the Detroit Tigers is being asked to check their 50/50 tickets.

The winner has six months to claim their prize. If no one steps up, then the winnings will be donated back to the Jays Care Foundation with approval from the AGCO.

The person with the winning number is being asked to reach out to JaysCare5050@Bluejays.com to claim their prize. Once the winner claims their prize, a congratulatory call with Sportsnet’s Hazel Mae will be arranged.

The next 50/50 mega jackpot is in September. Blue Jays 50/50 jackpots are split into two categories:

  • Homestand Jackpots: From May to August during every Blue Jays homestand. All ticket sales are combined over the course of each homestand, with the winning ticket being awarded at the end of the final home game.
  • Mega Jackpots: At the start and end of the regular season. Rather than awarding a winner at the end of each homestand, the sales are combined for the entire month.

Tickets are available anytime online during the duration of the jackpot, as well as in-game at Rogers Centre.
