Boy, 14, arrested after shots fired near Kipling and Finch

Toronto police say a 14-year-old boy has been arrested after gunshots were fired near Kipling Avenue and Finch Avenue West in Etobicoke at around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Nearby Elmlea Junior School was lockdown during the investigation, but it has since been lifted.

Police say they found evidence of gunfire outside an apartment building in the area but no victims were found.

A short time later police said they were investigating a vehicle they believed to be involved in the shooting incident in the area of Islington Avenue and Highway 401.

One person was taken into custody and another fled the area on foot.

There’s no word on charges at this point.
