1 man shot and killed in Mississauga, 2 others injured

A man is dead and 2 others injured after suspects forced their way into a Mississauga home. Erica Natividad with details on the shooting and the hunt for suspects.

Peel Regional Police (PRP) are searching for suspects following an altercation at a residence in Mississauga that resulted in one man being fatally shot and two others injured overnight.

Authorities were called to a home in the Central Parkway West and Joan Drive area near Hurontario Street just before 4 a.m.

One man in his 50s was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries and later died. PRP confirmed that the victim had been shot.

Two other men suffered non-life-threatening injuries but were not shot, police said. Their ages were not provided.

PRP Const. Mandeep Khatra said investigators believe that a group of suspects attended the residence and forced their way inside the home, leading to some sort of altercation involving a firearm.

Const. Khatra said the three victims were inside the residence at the time of the incident. A motive has not yet been determined.

Several suspects fled in a white-coloured SUV, but there are no suspect descriptions at this time.

The homicide unit has taken over the investigation.
