Pedestrian critically injured after being struck by vehicle in Brampton

One person is in critical but stable condition in hospital after they were struck by a vehicle in Brampton.

Emergency responders were called to Kennedy Road near Steeles Avenue East around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Paramedics initially transported one person to hospital in serious condition but their injuries were later downgraded to life-threatening. In an update, police say the pedestrian is now in stable condition.

The area is closed to traffic as police investigate.
