Police investigating after 3 homes in Vaughan were targeted by gunfire

York Regional Police are investigating three separate firearm discharges targeting Vaughan homes in less than 24 hours. Police say at least two of the incidents are connected. Catalina Gillies reports.

Police in York Region say three homes in the east end of Vaughan were targeted by gunfire over the weekend.

Officers were initially called to a residence near Farrell Road and Via Romano Boulevard, just west of Bathurst Avenue for reports that shots had been fired at a home around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.

According to investigators, a man was observed firing multiple rounds at the home before fleeing in a dark-coloured sedan.

The next day, police were called to a home in the same neighbourhood for reports that another residence had been shot at around 4:45 a.m. on Sunday.

Investigators were also called to the area of Pottery Place and Blue Willow Drive, near Highway 400 and Highway 7, at around 4:20 a.m. Sunday, reports of shots fired at a home.

Police say all three residences were occupied at the time of the shootings, but no one was physically injured.

“In all three incidents, a dark-colored sedan was observed fleeing the scene, and it is currently believed to be
the same vehicle involved,” authorities wrote in a statement issued on Sunday. “Investigators have established a link between two of the incidents, but investigation remains ongoing.”

York police say one suspect was seen at each of the three scenes. However, no suspects have been identified yet.
