Environment Canada has ended a freezing rain warning for much of the GTA, including Halton-Peel, Dufferin and Waterloo.
Warnings for Pickering, Oshawa and southern Durham have also ended.
Earlier Tuesday, the Toronto Region and Conservation Authority warned the public to avoid rivers and streams as the “rainfall amounts coupled with warmer temperatures and melting snow will result in higher than normal water levels.”
The warm front will finally pass through the Ottawa Valley into Quebec by Wednesday morning, with a changeover to rain and much milder temperature.
In Toronto, there’s a high of 6 C in the forecast, but a risk of a thunderstorm in the evening. The temperature is expected to rise even more overnight, with a high of 10 C by Wednesday morning.
