Police chase ends with crash in Brampton

Two people were arrested after a police pursuit ended in a crash in Brampton on Tuesday morning.

The chase started around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 401 near Kipling Avenue when a vehicle failed to pull over for a traffic stop, police said.

The chase continued to Highway 410. The driver then exited the highway at Steeles Avenue and made his way to Dixie Road and Clarke Boulevard, where he crashed into another car.

Two adults and a child were inside the second car but no one was hurt. The suspect then drove his car into a pole. The driver and occupant in the suspect car were then taken into custody. There’s no word yet on charges.

One of the suspects suffered a minor injury and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police closed the intersection of Dixie and Clarke for the investigation. The area reopened at 2 p.m.
