Could MP Olivia Chow be the next lieutenant-governor of Ontario?
It’s a rumour, according to Steve Paikin, the host of TVO’s The Agenda, who says he’s been told that Chow has been offered the job by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The Prime Minister’s Office denied it on Monday morning.
“There is absolutely no substance to this rumour. It is a false report,” the PMO told 680News Parliament Hill reporter Cormac MacSweeney.
Chow took to Twitter to also deny the rumour.
According to Paikin, David Onley’s tenure as lieutenant-governor is ending later this month.
There have been rumours on the Toronto political scene that Chow is going to run for mayor this year.
