Report: Leafs Sign McCabe

A source indicates the Toronto Maple Leafs secured their top defenceman on Wednesday, signing the offensively gifted Bryan McCabe to a five-year deal.
The Buds are expected to make an official announcement on the deal, which is reportedly worth between $5.5 million US and $6 million per year, on Thursday or Friday.
The two sides first reached a tentative agreement on May 31, but for undisclosed personal reasons McCabe delayed the deal.
The signing comes in timely fashion as the highly coveted blueliner was set to become a restricted free agent on July 1 st.
McCabe was third among all NHL defencemen in goals last season with 19 and also had a career high with 68 assists.
