Avril Lavigne & Sum 41 Front Man Deryck Whibley Tie The Knot

The two punk-inspired performers had a fairly traditional wedding, with Napanee native Lavigne, 21, wearing a flowing white Vera Wang gown for her trip down the aisle on a private Santa Barbara estate.
Sum 41 front man Deryck Whibley, 26, had his band mate and drummer Steve “Steve-O” Jocz at his side as his best man and Lavigne’s sister and some old friends made up the bridal party.
The pair reportedly exchanged vows under a crystal chandelier in a gazebo covered in white roses. A guest who didn’t want to be identified described the ceremony as “short” and “classy”.
But the sound of helicopters carrying photographers could be heard over the nuptials. The music stars managed to keep the wedding location under wraps up to the last minute but a few paparazzi managed to scope out the location, but dense hedges and palm trees provided privacy for the party.
The majority of the wedding guests were friends and family of the couple who made the trek down to California from Ontario for the big day.
The wedding reception was held in a tent of flowing red fabric decorated in a semi-gothic theme with red roses and candles.
The pair started dating in early 2004 and Whibley popped the question last June during Lavigne’s European tour.
Lavigne is currently working on her third album.
