Raptors Hit .500 With Win Over Celtics

The Toronto Raptors finally found the .500 mark on Friday night after beating the Boston Celtics 96-90.

Chris Bosh, who was recently named a starter for the All-Star game, looked more than deserving of the votes he garnered, scoring 26 points.

Anthony Parker had a career-high with 23 points while Morris Peterson and Jose Calderon finished with 10 each.

The struggling Celtics were led by Al Jefferson, who notched 20 points in Boston’s 10 th straight loss.

Despite the big win for Toronto, head coach Sam Mitchell wasn’t about to bask in the glory of playing .500 ball for long.

“Maybe for about 10 minutes,” Mitchell said. “Then we’ve got to go play (Saturday at Indiana). “That’s the thing about it, we fought so hard to get here and now we have to go play a game on the road on a back-to-back with guys missing.

“So we really don’t have much time to sit back and appreciate from where we’ve come. When you’re five, six, seven games from .500 it seems like it’s a long road to get here. I’m proud of the guys for the way they’ve battled.”
