- Apparently the rules of reality TV don’t apply to online video sharing services.
A hilarious and extremely popular YouTube video has been proven to be a hoax after the apparent Bridezilla featured in the clip was busted.
The set-up video features bridesmaids uncorking champagne and preparing for a wedding when the tearful bride enters the hotel room upset over an awful haircut, demands that her ladies-in-waiting switch off the camera, and then stomps into the bathroom where she starts cutting off her hair an hour before the ceremony.
But looks, like those lovelorn locks, can be deceiving. Gossip blog Dlisted outed the ladies in the show, tracking them down on Facebook. It turns out the star is Jodi Behan, a 22-year-old Toronto actress. Behan made the vexing video along with her producer Ingrid Haas.
The young thespian may have gotten the exposure every actor craves – some 2.1 million YouTube viewers worldwide, including famed director Norman Jewison – have watched her performance.
This isn’t the first time a huge hoax has sparked speculation over the net.
Last year actress Jessica Rose fooled millions while playing a fictional teenager named LonelyGirl15. Where’s Jessica now? Working on a movie with Lindsay Lohan.
Jodi may be joining those elevated ranks soon. She already has an agent and all this publicity may just land her an offer she can’t refuse.
Late Thursday night, the video was suddenly removed from the site by the user. No reason was given.
