Funeral visitation for Jordan Manners began on Tuesday and as expected, the grim reality of his death overwhelmed many mourners, most notably the murdered teen’s mother, Lorraine Small, who was overcome by grief outside Demarco Funeral Home (pictured).
Her sadness was shared by hundreds of attendees.
“Everybody I know, they just felt it. It’s just about Jordan ,” said the slain 15-year-old’s friend Carlene Clarke.
“He was a good kid,” adds Levonne Hamilton. “He never meant to hurt nobody.”
Manners was shot and killed inside C.W. Jefferys Collegiate last week. Two teens, both reportedly his friends, have been charged with first-degree murder.
The two 17-year-olds were arrested on Sunday and made their first court appearance the next day. They can’t be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but some say Jordan ‘s death was an accident, although police have yet to confirm that or release a motive.
Inside the funeral home, Jordan was remembered as a popular young student with dreams of one day becoming an actor.
The funeral for Jordan Manners is Thursday in North York. It will be held at the Christian Centre Church near Jane and Driftwood . Visitation takes place May 29-30 at the Demarco Funeral Home from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
