Cops Investigate String Of Gas Station Robberies

Authorities are looking into a possible connection between two overnight gas station robberies in the GTA. Several police services including Toronto, York and Peel are involved in the investigation, which began after a midnight heist at a gas bar at Steeles and Signal Hill.

Four hours later, OPP officers arrived at a service station at Highway 50 and Langstaff Rd. where a robbery was still in progress. It’s believed police caught two suspects, but three others reportedly fled the scene.

There have been a number of recent gas station robberies across the city and authorities are probing whether the same people may be responsible. The thieves reportedly got away with cigarettes and lottery tickets. An employee at the Steeles and Signal Hill location reportedly suffered minor injuries in the incident.

There’s no word on a description of the suspects or where they may have headed. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or click on http://www.222tips.com/.
