Renovation Nightmare: Mummified Baby Found Inside Walls

A man doing renovations on a home near Queen and Broadview made a grisly discovery after finding the mummified remains of dead baby behind two walls on Tuesday night.

Police responded to a call from Kintyre Ave., at around 8pm and later confirmed that the remains were human.

A resident who lives in the neighborhood says a couple bought the house about a month and a half ago.

Bob Kinghom, who lives nearby, was working on the home when he found the remains.

“You could see his skin and toes and his head,” the rattled handyman recalled.  “I didn’t turn it over to see the face. I saw the hands and counted the fingers and said a prayer and came home.”

“A hell of a way for a baby to have to go. No funeral, you know.”

The baby was wrapped in a newspaper dated 1925.

The owners of the home weren’t in the residence at the time of the discovery.  The house is now considered a crime scene and an investigation is ongoing.
