Virginia Tech Shooter May Have Practiced Dry Runs

The Virginia tech gunman may have done a test run, two days before the shooting spree that left 30 people dead on April 16, 2007 .

Police say two days before the massacre, witnesses saw a suspicious man in a hooded sweatshirt in the building where Seung Hui Cho, a mentally disturbed student, killed 29 people and then himself. They also claim the doors of the building had been chained shut.

Cho chained the doors of Norrish Hall before his rampage, but investigators say they have no indication he was the person who had chained the exits two days before. Police have still been unable to locate his cell phone, digital camera or hard drives from his computers.

Cho killed himself when police broke through the chains and stormed the hall. He sent a chilling tape to a U.S. network explaining his motives, but what caused his intense hatred may never truly be known.
