Joe Smith was anything but ordinary Saturday night, and the B.C. Lions‘ workhorse running back put together a 99-yard, two touchdown performance as his club cruised to a 40-7 win over the Toronto Argonauts.
With the win B.C. regained top spot in the CFL’s West Division, while Toronto saw it’s mini two-game winning streak come crashing to an end.
There was no shortage of turnovers for the Argos either, and Boatmen pivot Michael Bishop spent an uncomfortable amount of time on his back looking at the sky and was picked off three times by the swarming Lions defence.
Meanwhile, Paul McCallum did more than his share with the foot for B.C., booting five field goals in the rout.
Toronto’s next game is Sunday against Winnipeg.
