Memorial Held For Eight-Year-Old Strangled To Death

An autopsy showed that eight-year-old Megan Wilde was strangled to death earlier in October.
It’s a crime police allege was committed by her father, and one the 36-year-old faces charges of First-Degree Murder in connection with.
But on Saturday, under cloudy skies, the focus for the Wilde family was remembering their lost young girl at a memorial service inside Don Valley Bible Chapel filled with friends, all touched by the weight of such an unthinkable tragedy. Supporters say Wilde’s close family is doing as well as can be expected under such horrific circumstances.
“Faith, and enormous support from the community and family,” said family spokesperson Rosalyn Mogani when asked how Wilde’s mother and others were coping.
Still, with Richard Wilde due back in court on Thursday it’s a hurt that only decades, not weeks, can ease.
