Angry Player Quickly Dispatches Naked Man During Cricket Match

Here’s a lesson to drunken louts who would show their shortcomings to a crowd of sports fans: never do it in front of some rough and tumble cricket players.

You don’t have to know a lot about the sport to understand that the people who play it are finely tuned athletes who are ready for anything. And so when Australia and India were involved in the second tri-series final in Brisbane Tuesday, everyone was concentrating on the game.

That changed when a streaker decided to take the opportunity to dash out onto the field and flash the finger to the fans. The naked man was running from one side of the pitch to the other as security officials repeatedly failed to reach him.

The elusive intruder then headed for an all-rounder named Andrew Symonds, who was up to bat. The player didn’t budge and let the laughing fan come straight towards him. And that’s when the star struck, using some fancy moves to drop kick, elbow, trip and finally fell the unwanted guest right in front of him.

The streaker went down hard and security officials swooped in, hauling him off the grounds and into the arms of waiting police. The unnamed suspect faces charges and the potential of a lifetime ban from the stadium.

But Symonds – who once contemplated a career as a rugby player – may also wind up facing consequences of his own. Under strict rules laid down by the International Cricket Council, players are banned from committing any act of physical assault on an official or a spectator.

Even one who isn’t exactly dressed for the occasion.
