World’s Longest Handshake Tops Out At Nine And A Half Hours

If the two friends from San Francisco weren’t close before, they certainly are now.

Kevin Whittaker and Cory Jens held hands for nine and half hours Monday, in an attempt to set the world record for longest handshake.

They didn’t have to make eye-contact or small talk, but they did have to “grip palms” and “continuously move their hands up and down.”

They began their quest outside the city’s Ferry Building, then moved to a hotel bar. At 11:38pm, their ordeal was over. They duo celebrated with champagne – but no high fives.

The Guinness Book of World Records still must confirm the feat.

It’s not known how they navigated bathroom breaks, but you might say their efforts really deserve a hand.
