Sir Richard Branson is one of the world’s most famous billionaires, but that doesn’t mean he’s one to sit idly by and bask in his accomplishments.
In Toronto over the weekend for the Virgin Music Festival, he also has designs on a certain world record.
Branson admitted that while he’ll be on the island for the weekend festival, his mind might be on the water.
He hopes to set the mark for the fastest sail across the Atlantic Ocean, something that hasn’t been attempted in roughly 10 years.
“I love sailing,” he said. “But to actually be able to break that record … is a real dream.”
Virgin Fest will take over Toronto Island Saturday and Sunday, with more than 60 bands and 40,000 people.
It’s the third year in a row the event’s been staged in Toronto. Headlining acts include the Foo Fighters, Oasis, Paul Weller, Stereophonics and local rockers the Constantines. To take a look at the full lineup for both days, click here.
“There’s some great music,” he admitted, noting Stereophonics and Paul Weller are both Virgin artists.

But Virgin Fest isn’t the only show in town over the weekend.
