Can You Pass The U.S. Election Day Quiz?

It’s no surprise to hear this: Canadians seem more interested in the U.S. election than in the one we had on October 14th.

It’s not hard to see why. One on hand, there’s the first African American with a real shot at the highest office in the land. On the other there’s the oldest presidential candidate ever and the first female in the running for vice-president.

Either way, it’s a pretty compelling story, with the kind of personalities and dramatic divisions that movies are made of. How this feature ends will be reviewed by critics around the world after all the polls close Tuesday night.

So while you may not know the name of Stephane Dion’s wife (for the record, it’s Janine Krieber), chances are good you know who Barack Obama is married to (Michelle Obama.)

And even if you couldn’t pick Elizabeth May out of a crowd, you’ll likely have no trouble identifying Sarah Palin – although you may not be able to tell her apart from Tina Fey.

What that in mind, as you watch the results come in, you may want to test your knowledge of the American campaign with a tough quiz on the election and the campaign that’s now over. To take the Maclean’s challenge, click here.
