Two People Taken Into Custody Following High Speed Chase

A police chase that began in York Region ended with two people being arrested on the side of Highway 401.
Speeds reached 150 km/h during the chase, which started in Richmond Hill early Wednesday morning. York officers followed the car, suspecting street racing.
The vehicle took off toward the 401 westbound, and though the occupants managed to get a fair distance police pulled them over near Avenue Rd.
Two individuals, one believed to be shy of 18 years old, were taken into custody at the scene.
There may have been a second vehicle involved but there’s no word on what happened to it.
