New On DVD – May 26, 2009

Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus CityNews.ca Pick of the Week – Bad acting. Horrible writing. Cheesy effects. One great B-movie you will talk about for years to come. As the title states, this is a movie about a mega shark and a giant octopus. Throw in Debbie Gibson and Lorenza Lamas and you will have a ton of fun watching this flick. Special features include a ‘making of’ featurette and bloopers.

Powder Blue – This is the movie where Jessica Biel plays a stripper and…strips for the camera! If you need more convincing to watch, the film also stars Forrest Whitaker, Patrick Swayze, Ray Liotta and Lisa Kudrow. Special features include a ‘making of’ featurette and trailer. Also available on Blu-ray.

New In Town – Just when you think Renée Zellweger couldn’t get more annoying, along comes in New In Town. This is a horrible excuse for a romantic comedy that doesn’t even deserve to be watched on late-night TV. Avoid at all costs. Special features include The Folk Art of Scrapbooking, deleted scenes, and cast and crew commentary. Also available on Blu-ray.

More New Releases this week: Killshot, The Memories of Angels, Outlander, Children of Men (Blu-ray)
