It’s a Canadian first and doctors at one Toronto hospital now have a way to get a crystal clear 3D look at the human heart.
The new technology – which is currently available at Toronto General – gives surgeons a closer, clearer look at the heart through a camera that’s inserted into a patient’s throat. Experts say the difference is like night and day.
“For the surgeons it really helps to localize where the problem is,” admits Dr. Harry Rakowski, a cardiologist at Toronto General.
