A man in his 20s is dead after he was ejected from his car in an overnight crash.
Police received the call just after 3am Saturday and arrived at the intersection of Dorval Drive and Leewood to find the driver on the road next to his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers say the car was northbound on Dorval Drive when it struck some pylons and rolled several times. It appears the lone occupant was not wearing his seatbelt and was thrown clear.
“It’s extremely tragic,” noted Inspector Ivan Lortye of the Halton Regional Police. “This person might have been alive if [he was] wearing a seatbelt.”
Investigators believe speed may have caused the collision and have not ruled out alcohol as a factor.
