Dwayne Roloson made 58 saves and Josh Bailey scored in overtime as the New York Islanders beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3.
The game wouldn’t even have been close if not for the play of Roloson, who is enjoying a resurgent season at age 40.
Rolson made several great saves – the most painful of which was number-52 – a hard shot from Mikhail Grabovski that hit him directly in the mask.
Bailey ended the game with the Islanders only shot of overtime.
He took a pass from Sean Bergenheim and slammed the puck into an empty cage to bring a stunning conclusion to the evening.
Bergenheim, Jeff Tambellini and Matt Moulson scored for the Islanders, who had opened a 3-0 lead.
Phil Kessel, Wayne Primeau, Niklas Hagman replied for the Maple Leafs.
