CFIA Issues Another Warning About Deli Meats Possibly Contaminated With Listeria

For the second time this week the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a warning about deli meats possibly contaminated with Listeria.

Olymel is voluntarily recalling a number of products, sold under various brands, the CFIA said Wednesday. Those affected products are:

There have been no reports of illness.

These products were sold in both Ontario and Quebec and may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Food infected with this bacterium can cause high fever, severe headaches, neck stiffness and nausea.

Listeriosis is particularly dangerous for pregnant women and those with compromised immune systems.

On Monday, the CFIA issued a warning about Siena Foods salami possibly contaminated with the same bacterium.
