Two separate stabbings at Durham and Peel schools

It was a bloody day at GTA schools, Tuesday.

One teen was killed and another teen was injured after separate stabbings in Oshawa and Mississauga.

A 16-year-old student at Oshawa’s Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic high school was stabbed to death in the afternoon after allegedly getting into an argument with another teen at a nearby bus stop.

One friend of the victim, who was known as “biggie,” told CityNews he is in shock.

“One of my best boys for life just got stabbed […] I just can’t describe it right now.”

An 18-year-old student at the school has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Meantime, Peel Regional Police were called to St. Gertrude Separate elementary school, located in the Mavis and Bristol roads area, after reports that someone had been stabbed.

A 15-year-old boy was rushed to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children via air ambulance. He is now listed in stable condition.

Const. Samantha Newley, with Peel police, said “it was in the parking lot of the school; however, it’s our belief given the age of the victim and the suspects that they’re not related to the school in anyway.”

Police were on the hunt for three suspects – believed to be in their teens.

The K-9 unit has been called in to assist with the search.
