Talk much? 905 to get 3rd area code to ensure region doesn’t run out of numbers

OTTAWA, Ont. – Phone numbers are being exhausted at such a pace in cities and towns surrounding Toronto that a new area code is being added to the 905 region.
The CRTC announced Tuesday that 365 will be added as an area code starting March 25, 2013.
The 905’s demand for fresh phone numbers had already seen the CRTC overlay a second area code – 289 – to the region.
It was estimated that even with those two area codes the 905 region would run out of phone numbers by March 2014.
The 905 area code stretches from Niagara Falls in southern Ontario to Durham Region in the east, but does not include Toronto.
