COLLINGWOOD, Ont. – MP Helena Guergis appeared at an event in her riding of Simcoe-Grey Friday.
She was in attendance at a groundbreaking ceremony for the new permanent Georgian College campus in Collingwood.
Following the official ceremony, Guergis was quoted as saying that she is still trying to find out what the allegations against her are, and she has written a letter asking for a copy of the allegations given to the ethics commissioner.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper cited unspecified allegations in removing her from the cabinet and caucus last month, and also referred the matter to the RCMP.
The former junior cabinet minister has already promised to run as an independent during the next federal election, if the Tories do not let her return.
In the meantime, Guergis said she is working at home to take care of her constituents, although her doctor has told her to make some time for rest due to an undisclosed physical condition.
