Robbers use feces as distraction technique in string of thefts at ATMs

TORONTO – Police are informing the public about a string of thefts at ATM machines, which involve spraying the victim with liquid feces as part of their distraction technique.

Police confirm there were four such incidents in the downtown core over the past week.

Groups of at least four suspects are involved.

The suspects squirt people while they are making cash withdrawals, and then offer to clean up their clothing, stealing their money at the same time.

Police are warning ATM customers to be aware of their surroundings.
