You’ve heard of employees walking off the job – but you’ve never seen it done like this.
Flight attendant Steven Slater allegedly slid his way to freedom on Monday, deploying the emergency chute of a JetBlue plane at JFK Airport.
He then went home.
Slater, 39, allegedly got into a dispute with a passenger. She was trying to remove her luggage from the overheard compartment before the plane had fully stopped. When Slater told her to sit down, she allegedly hit him in the head with her luggage.
That’s when Slater made his dramatic exit.
He allegedly yelled at the passenger, then got on the PA system and shouted curses at all the passengers. He then grabbed several bottles of beer from the beverage cart, opened up the inflatable slide, and fled the scene.
Officers eventually caught up with Slater at home – but he wasn’t waiting quietly.
Slater was allegedly having sex when he was arrested.
He has been charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and trespassing.
