Judge rules against Taser International

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A judge has ruled against Taser International’s bid to have a key finding by the Braidwood inquiry tossed.  A judge in B.C. Supreme Court has upheld the report saying Tasers are capable of causing death.

The company says it has lost millions of dollars in sales since Justice Thomas Braidwood concluded the stun guns increase the risk of heart failure under some conditions. It says it is reviewing the court’s decision and it’s too early to say whether the company will file an appeal.

The inquiry looked into the death of Robert Dziekanski at Vancouver International Airport in 2007.
