Police search for two suspects after shot fired in Toronto mall

TORONTO, Ont. – Police are still searching for two suspects in the Fairview Mall shooting that took place Monday night.
Police said the shooting occurred after the men were investigated for “a theft-related offence” at a store in the mall.
A single shot was allegedly fired at a mall security guard just before 9 p.m. on Monday, but luckily, the bullet did not strike anyone.
Investigators recovered a handgun at the scene.
Police are looking for 27-year-old Christopher Alexander and an unidentified man who was also caught on camera.
A case of mistaken identity led a 29-year-old man to walk into a police station Wednesday after his photo was released by Toronto police. He was released without charges. Toronto police Const. Wendy Drummond told 680News it was a case of mistaken identity.
