Man Accused Of Recording Women In Washroom

A 40-year-old man was arrested this week for allegedly recording women in a washroom.

The alleged recordings happened between Aug. 1 and Sept. 30 of this year at a business on Consumers Road in Scarborough. Police say the suspect used numerous audio and visual devices, including pen and watch cameras.

The alleged peeping Tom would enter the women’s washroom on the first floor of the building in darkness and activate the motion detector. He’d wait in a stall, placing his knapsack on the floor to capture images of women in the adjoining stall, police claim.

Guo Wu, 40, was arrested Tuesday and is facing 11 counts of voyeurism and seven counts of mischief. He was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Authorities believe there may be other victims out there. Any one with information is asked to call police at (416) 808-3300 or Crime Stoppers at (416) 222-TIPS.
