KFC’s Double Down lands in Canada

TORONTO, Ont. – It’s a bacon and cheese sandwich that uses two pieces of fried chicken instead of bread, and Kentucky Fried Chicken just launched it in Canada.

The “sandwich” debuted in the United States during the spring, and has since become the fast-food’s bestseller. KFC sold more than 10 million of the notorious DD in less than one month, reported the Toronto Star.

It looks like the Double Down might be a hit with Canadians as well. With a 25-minute wait for it at the Toronto’s Eaton Centre, customers couldn’t wait to taste the 540 calorie-packed sandwich.

“It’s really greasy, the cheese is still gooey … it’s delicious,” Jake said.

But while some were drooling over KFC’s infamous recipe, others were worried about the consequences.

“I’m going to be stuck in the bathroom for a very long time,” Dave said.

“It’s literally making me light headed,” Mark said.

The meat-lovers product will be available only until Nov. 14; however, it could become a permanent addition to their menu if successful.
