PoCo pushes for a stop on Evergreen Line

Port Coquitlam (NEWS1130) – The City of Port Coquitlam is making a more vocal pitch for a stop on the Evergreen Line.

The line will link Burnaby with Port Moody and Coquitlam. Now, PoCo Mayor Greg Moore thinks the route should include his community because of its dense downtown core.

Moore tells the Vancouver Sun if the rapid transit line doesn’t get built, it never will. The city has talked with the Ministry of Transportation and sent a letter to Premier Gordon Campbell.

Moore says the city has even offered to donate a piece of land to TransLink for high-density housing on the route.
