Waterloo swimming complex to remain closed following maintenance accident

WATERLOO, Ont. – The Swimplex at the Waterloo Recreation Complex will stay dry for a few more days after a boom lift being used for renovations fell into the shallow end.
The lift tipped into the empty pool while onsite during a scheduled closure for upgrades to the lighting system.
At least one person suffered minor injuries.
The Ministry of Labour is investigating.
A New Year’s Eve event at the pool has been cancelled.
