Brantford man pulls knife on cab driver, then calls for another ride

BRANTFORD, Ont. – A 25-year-old Brantford man learned that calling a cab company just hours after pulling a knife on one of their drivers could end poorly.

Investigators say the man took a cab Wednesday night and got upset when the driver couldn’t drop him off directly in front of his destination.

Police said it was that moment when he pulled a 25 centimetre knife from his jacket, held it against the driver’s ribs and threatened her, then got out of the cab.

A few hours later, police said he called the same company for another ride.

He now faces charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats and intimidation.
