Bank gives elderly woman money she lost to alleged con man

A 95-year-old woman swindled out of thousands of dollars has been reimbursed.
Marion Dressler lost $7,500 to an alleged con man on March 9. The man knocked on the door of her Harbord and Spadina-area home and went down to her basement to do some furnace repairs. Police say no work was done.
The Royal Bank has given Dressler the money she lost in the alleged scam. She says if her health holds, she’ll take a trip to her native Germany, as she’d originally planned.
Sunny Bhatia, 27, is charged with fraud.
