TORONTO, Ont. – Police have arrested and charged a 55 year old man after he was caught driving 121 kilometres per hour in a 60 kilometre zone downtown.
Officers report an airport limo was travelling eastbound along Lake Shore Boulevard near Logan Avenue at around 3:30 Thursday morning when it was pulled over.
The driver has been charged with one count of speeding and one count of stunt driving.
He has lost his license for a week. His vehicle is also impounded for seven days. Officers said the alleged offences were committed in an area which has been the focus of speeding due to community concerns.
A number of collisions have occurred in the area over the past few years, with one of them resulting in a pedestrian fatality.
