2 dead following separate weekend drownings

TORONTO, On. – Two separate drownings left a teen and a young man dead this weekend.
A 21-year-old Mississauga man died after drowning in a quarry at Sherkston Shores Beach Resort in Port Colborne.
Niagara Regional Police recovered the body at around 1 a.m., Sunday.
The man jumped about six metres off a cliff into the quarry, police said.
He resurfaced and began to speak with friends, but slipped under the water soon after.
The regional coroner is investigating the incident, but police said alcohol wasn’t a factor in the death.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old North York boy died after drowning in a pond at Hidden Acres Mennonite Camp, northeast of Shakespeare.
Malcolm Gyfani went swimming in a roped off area Saturday, but disappeared under the water. Other swimmers tried to rescue him but were unsuccessful, officials said.
He was taken to Stratford Hospital before being transported to London.
The local fire department were called to the scene, pulled him from the water and attempted to revive him.
