Man falls off balcony after he was Tasered by police

A man who fell off a balcony after he was Tasered by police following a stand-off was rushed to hospital Monday morning.
Officers were called to an apartment in the Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue area, where they were told a suspect was hiding out after an alleged domestic incident in the east end.
Police found the man at an apartment at 1765 Weston Rd, around 1 a.m. Witnesses claim he may have crawled down to a third-floor balcony from the 10th floor. The suspect remained on the spot for another few hours, talking with police negotiators.
Officers then made it up to the third-floor apartment and Tasered the man, who then fell over the rail, around 5:30 a.m.
The man was rushed to hospital in serious condition.
The Special Investigations Unit, a civilian agency that probes incidents of alleged sexual assault, serious injury or death involving police, hasn’t yet invoked its mandate.
