27.7M tune in to see Kutcher on ‘Two and a Half Men’

Ashton Kutcher is “winning.”

The 33-year-old actor’s debut on the popular television show Two and a Half Men earned big ratings – 27.7 million people tuned in to watch Monday night’s season premiere.

According to the Neilsen company, that’s more than any other episode when Charlie Sheen was the star.

Sheen was fired from the show last March for his drug-fuelled antics and verbal rampages against the series’ creator, Chuck Lorre. The self-proclaimed warlock reportedly earned about $2 million per episode before he was canned.

Kutcher is reportedly taking home about $1 million an episode.

Writers killed off Sheen’s character, Charlie Harper — he was struck by a subway in Paris. Kutcher plays Internet billionaire Walden Schmidt.
